Dragon's Breath Chilli Seeds – 10 seeds to grow at home
Dragon's Breath chilli seeds (10 pcs) are seeds of the chilli plant Dragon's Breath (Capsicum chinense), which grows 100 – 180 cm tall and bears red fruits 3 – 5 cm long. The heat of the fruits is approx. 2,000,000 – 2,200,000 SHU (Ultra category, ultra hot), and ripening takes 100 days on average.
A polytunnel or greenhouse is ideal for growing chillies from seed, but you can also raise Dragon's Breath at home on a windowsill or in a pot on the balcony. We sow in mid-February and plant outside in May, once there is no more risk of night frosts.

How to sow chilli seeds – germination and young plants
- Sowing: mid-February in seed compost, 2 – 3 seeds per cell (not every seed germinates)
- Germinating chilli seeds: the ideal temperature is 24 – 30 °C; keep the compost moist but not wet
- After germination: room temperature and plenty of light – in winter, LED lighting helps; superhot varieties germinate more slowly, so be patient
- Repotting: move stronger seedlings into larger pots
- Planting out: in May after the last night frosts – into a polytunnel, greenhouse, garden bed or a pot on the balcony
